Because im planning to start a website. i need to know html".


My friend said i need to know it first and then make a sample web page out of it as a practice.

Your question is insulting. Why would you think you can start a web site, when you don't know anything about HTML, or the myriad other things required to launch a successful web site? HTML is not rocket science, but it takes time to learn, just like everything else.





Would you try to open a restaurant if you didn't know anything about cooking? Of course not. You'd take classes first. And that's exactly what you should do!
Reply:yahoo has a tool called sitebuilder where you don't have to know html. It is very easy to learn.
Reply:Google "HTML tutorial". What I found helped in learning HTML is editing my MySpace page, looking at the source code for webpages, and going to http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_examp... You could always ask how to do something here.

Reply:This may not be THE best answer, but I got all my practice from customizing my page on Myspace. So I know a lot of html by memory, but even the most computer-saavy people will tell you they usually keep a book by their computer for reference.





My advice is to just find an html book that doesn't look overly complicated when you flip through it, and then keep it around in case you ever forget codes.





You can also find a multitude of codes online for what ones you don't find in books.
